Your Path to Holistic Healing

Interested in Exploring Naturopathic Medicine?

Your body can heal itself when given the right tools. Naturopathic medicine taps into that natural ability, blending time-tested remedies with modern science to support your wellness journey. At North Shore Sports Medicine, we focus on the whole person—your physical health, mental health, and lifestyle—to create a treatment plan that’s as unique as you are.

Our approach doesn’t just mask symptoms; it digs deep to find the root cause of what’s holding you back. Whether you’re battling stress, low energy, or a nagging injury, naturopathic medicine offers a fresh perspective on healing.

A Path to Better Mental Health & Healing

With naturopathic medicine at North Shore Sports Medicine we prioritize mental health alongside physical well-being. Stress management is a cornerstone of our approach, using tools like nutrition, acupuncture, and counseling to calm the mind and boost resilience.

We also address physical sensations like fatigue or tension that often stem from mental strain. By supporting your immune system and balancing hormones, we help you find clarity and energy to live your best life.

Meet Dr. Bastien, (BCNA, CAND)

Following his naturopathic training, he pursued training in prolotherapy, neural therapy, IMS, ultrasonography, and traumatic brain injury treatment.

He was an instructor at BINM in the physical medicine department for 8 years, teaching aspiring doctors to utilize spinal manipulation and soft tissue therapy to treat pain and dysfunction.

What Can I Expect on My First Consultation to a Naturopathic Doctor?

Walking into your first consultation can feel like stepping into uncharted territory, but we make it welcoming and straightforward. At North Shore Sports Medicine, your naturopathic doctor will spend about an hour diving into your health history, lifestyle, and goals. Expect questions about your diet, stress levels, sleep, and even physical sensations that might seem unrelated.

We might suggest lab tests to check hormone levels or your immune system, ensuring we have a clear picture of your body’s needs. You’ll leave with a tailored treatment plan that could include nutrition advice, supplements, or therapies like IV therapy. It’s not just a visit—it’s the start of a partnership to transform your health.

How Can a Naturopathic Physician Help Me?

We can address common conditions like digestive system disorders, hormone imbalances, and chronic pain with natural, evidence-based methods. Struggling with hot flashes or low energy during pregnancy? We can balance hormones with diet and supplements, avoiding invasive treatments. Our focus on prevention means we don’t just fix problems—we help you avoid them in the future. From boosting your immune system to managing stress, our naturopathic doctor crafts solutions that fit your life, helping you feel vibrant and in control.

Treating Common Conditions Naturally

Got a stubborn issue like IBS or joint pain? Our naturopathic physician uses therapies like prolotherapy and acupuncture to treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. For example, a patient with chronic back pain found relief through a mix of prolotherapy and dietary changes, regaining mobility in weeks. We tailor every treatment to your body’s unique needs.

What conditions can naturopathy treat?

Naturopathy can address a wide range of conditions, from digestive system issues to mental health challenges and chronic pain. Our clinic treats common conditions like IBS, hot flashes, and fatigue, using personalized plans that include diet, supplements, and therapies like prolotherapy. We focus on the root cause to help you achieve your health goals.

Supporting Women’s Health

Women face unique challenges, from pregnancy to menopause. Our clinic specializes in natural solutions for hot flashes, hormonal imbalances, and fertility concerns. By adjusting diet and using targeted supplements, we help women feel their best at every stage of life.

How Does Direct Billing and Extended Benefits Work?

Many extended health plans in British Columbia cover naturopathic medicine, including consultations and lab tests. We offer direct billing to streamline the process, so you don’t have to hassle with paperwork. After your visit, we submit claims directly to your insurer, and you only pay any remaining balance.

Check with your provider to confirm coverage, but rest assured, our team is here to explain every step. Save your receipts for tax credits if your plan doesn’t fully cover services. It’s one less thing to stress about on your path to wellness.
